In-person Event β Join Slack Community Manila for a hands-on evening with Claude in Slack: the everyday use cases, the Slack MCP server, and the agents now living in your channels.
VIEW AGENDA
You spend your whole day in Slack. The threads, the decisions, the files, the "can someone take a look at this" messages β it's all already there. So why are you still copying it into another tab to get help with it?
Claude works inside Slack. Tag it in a thread and it reads the conversation before answering. DM it for the stuff nobody else needs to see. And it runs in the other direction too β connect the Slack MCP server and Claude can search your workspace while you're working somewhere else entirely.
Join Slack Community Manila for a hands-on evening on all of it. We're covering three things:
Claude in your channels and DMs. Summarising long threads, drafting replies, analysing shared files, surfacing context. Setup, the tips that noticeably improve your results, and the limits worth knowing before you rely on it.
The Slack MCP server. The direction most people don't know exists. Connect Slack to Claude Desktop or Claude Code, and Claude can pull from your workspace during deep work outside Slack. One command, and it's live.
The agent shift. Slack is fast becoming the default home for AI agents β Slackbot being the obvious example β and the MCP gateway is a big reason why. We'll look at what building your own involves, and at Claude Tag, the shared @Claude that replaced the old Claude in Slack app on 3 August.
Then we'll go past the "how" to the "so what": what an AI teammate in everyday conversation actually does to meeting habits, decision-making, and the pace of work for teams here in Manila.
This is a practical, hands-on session. Come ready to click and explore!
65% of Anthropic's product team's code is now created by their internal version of Claude Tag (Anthropic's own figure, about its own engineers)
20 / 50 β the messages Claude sees as context when you tag it in a channel, versus in a thread. Knowing the difference changes how you use it
3 Aug 2026 β Claude Tag replaced the Claude app in Slack for Team and Enterprise workspaces
1 command β /plugin install slack connects your workspace to Claude Code
All Slack plans β Claude in Slack works on any Slack subscription if you have a paid Claude Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise account.
Getting Claude into your workspace Installing from the Slack Marketplace, connecting your Claude account, and adding Claude to a channel through the Agents & apps tab β including the org-level path for Enterprise Grid admins.
DMs versus threads, and why it matters DMs for solo work. Threads for collaboration β Claude uses messages from before it was mentioned as context and replies in-thread to keep things tidy. Plus the context limits: 20 recent messages on a channel mention, 50 recent replies in a thread, and how to steer it with a direct message link.
Real use cases across the org Thread summaries, drafting replies to difficult messages, file and document analysis, meeting prep, research, and ticket triage β from sales to support to engineering.
The Slack MCP server Connecting Slack to Claude Code with /plugin install slack, or to Claude Desktop through Connectors and OAuth. Then Claude can search and reference your workspace whenever it needs the context.
Slackbot as an MCP client, and building your own agent Why Slack has become the preferred home for native and third-party agents, what the MCP gateway enables, and what deploying a custom agent actually involves.
Claude Tag: the shared @Claude What changed on 3 August, why one shared Claude per channel is a different proposition to a private bot, and what admins need to configure. Worth knowing: Claude Tag is Team and Enterprise only β Pro and Max users still have Claude in Slack.
During this session, we will:
Set up Claude in Slack end to end, including the admin path for Enterprise Grid
Show the tips that meaningfully improve your results β threads, context limits, steering
Walk through real use cases across sales, support, ops, and engineering
Connect the Slack MCP server to Claude Desktop and Claude Code, live
Explain the agent shift in Slack and what building your own involves
Cover what changed with Claude Tag on 3 August and who it applies to
Send you home with workflows you can set up in your own workspace this week
This event is great for:
Slack users Anyone who wants to work more efficiently without leaving the conversation.
Developers and builders See the Slack MCP server in action and what it takes to deploy a custom agent.
Slack admins App installation and approval, channel scoping, and what the Claude Tag change means for your workspace.
Sales, support, and ops teams Practical use cases for drafting, research, meeting prep, and triage in the channels you already work in.
Anyone curious about AI at work No advanced technical experience required. Come curious, leave with a concrete action plan.
