To ensure the safety of chapter leaders, members and local communities during the Covid-19 outbreak, we have suspended all in-person community events. All community leaders have been encouraged to host their events virtually during this time.
Chapter Leader Guidelines
Interested in running a Slack Platform Community? That’s great! Community champions like you are critical to the success of other developers and builders on our platform, and to our customers.
Here’s what it takes to run a local chapter.
Slack Platform Community chapters are:
local meetup-style groups run by dedicated volunteer organizers who want to spread their passion for the Slack platform to their local community
a place to connect, share, and create the future of work with other Slack developers, designers, and product managers
a place to learn about Slack platform products and development tools, as well as what local companies and developers are doing with these technologies
focused on educational content, free from sales pitches
governed by the Slack Developer Community Code of Conduct
open to all and free to those who are interested in attending
Slack Platform Community Leaders are:
existing Slack users
volunteers who are passionate about using and building on the Slack platform
committed to promoting their community and growing chapter membership through regularly scheduled meetings
encouraged to find co-leaders to help manage their community and events
Bonus points: you’ve built a custom or third-party app for Slack.
run all events and manage RSVPs through the central Slack Platform Community hub, accessible at slackcommunity.com so we can track attendance and reimburse accordingly
organize at least four chapter events per calendar year, or be moved to an inactive status
act in representation of themselves, not a company or corporation
Slack supports and recognizes SPC chapters, but doesn’t own or manage them. Slack will support you by providing resources, swag, and reimbursement for events.
